Julissa’s mother, Maria, joined Amada as an artisan in 2021. She was living in a worn down, large oven used for baking bricks, dealing with an abusive husband, and trying to feed all eight of her children. However, if you look at her youngest daughter, you would never know she comes from extreme poverty. Julissa is vibrant, charismatic, and fun. She loves to play games, laugh, run around with friends, and receive piggy-back rides. We hope you are reminded of joy when you wear her bracelet.
